Dragonwings Homework!!

In Dragonwings P.167

To the bonorable Wrights:

This is to inform you that I am a girl of eleven. I have greatly admired your feats of daring. My father wants to fly too. Can you help him? We need to know how to shape the propellers. We need to know how big the wings should be in order to lift my father into the air. And I also have a machine hand for making electricity, can it help my father and I for finishing the plane? Father says that no one else in the whole world knows as much as you do about aeroplanes. Thank you.

And I signed it with the sounds of my name spelled out in demon letters. I wrote several drafts of it and then copied it out in the fine, elegant hand Miss Whitlaw had taught me. The next day we went down together and mailed the letter. ''You realized though, Moon Shadow, that even if they were to get this letter, there is no guarantee that they’ll answer it. They’re busy men, you know.''

But two weeks later, I got a letter from the Wrights’ bicycle shop, and in a very neat, strong hand Orville answered me:

Dear Miss Lee,

My brother and I are always happy to meet another flying enthusiast. Our brotherhood is too small to lose any one of us. Enclosed you will find some tables and diagrams that should prove of some service to you. We were very surprise that you have a machine hand. We think it may have your brother and you to get less trouble in making the plane. We were very proud of you too. You are just a eleven years old girl, but you can also help your father. You are a nice girl. If we can be of any further assistance to you, please let us know.

newspaper response

Reductions in the size of classes in secondary schools will begin next year.

If I am the parents of the student, I think this system is great to my kids, because my kids can learn more easily by there are fewer classmates. Their teachesr can spend much time to solve my kids’ problem, therefore my kid may get good result in the exams. I will feel very encourage, but I am worry about are there enough materials? If not the teacher may have a lot of thrust and they can’t perform well to my kid, it may make unexpected result.

On another hand, if I am a student I think that this system is harmful to me, because I must pay attention to listen to the teacher, I cannot sleep, talk or eat during the lesson without the teacher looking at. And the teacher may always want to ask me questions, if I can’t answer, they would call on me and make me feel embarrassing. I would be unhappy and hate going back school. This system will cause unwanted effect. Of course I will follow the school regulations, I will try my best to be a good student, but I am very eager to have good relationships with the teachers. And it may face the bad pressure.

Actually, it is not so important to consider the size of each class. I think the most important is the learning atmosphere of the school. To lead students to become self learning, to guide students to be good both at academic and conduct are the most great task to the teachers .I believed that this is more useful to help the student on their learning.

Which revolution does Hong Kong need?
I think Hong Kong no need all of these revolution. Firstly in these revolutions, there were many social inequalities but in nowadays Hong Kong has laws, no more unfair things in society. People all in Hong Kong now have freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion. But in some revolution, people couldn't oppose the king, if not they will die, so there were symbols of tyranny. Therefore I think that Hong Kong no needs any revolution.

What are five basic qualities that a good inventor might have?I think being a good inventor might be creative, dauntless, hardworking, clever and attentive.

About Number the stars

After reading this book, I knew that in this book the main character is Annemarie Johansen. She had a best friend, Ellen Rosen and a young sister Kirsti.
Annemarie was a girl that good at racing and she was ten years old in the story.
Kirsti was very brave, even braver then her elder sister, she shouted at the German solider. She was very childlike.
Ellen was very poor, her family and her needed to hide because of the Germans, if not they will be catch by them. Because of Ellen, Annemarie knew that she can’t have anymore silly dreams, she knew that she must be bodyguard for Ellen, and Ellen’s parents, and all of Denmark’s Jews.
I think that the Germans were very rude because they had issued orders closing many stores run by Jews and caused that a lot of family to be lost with each other.
